17 miles long run. First 7 miles were slightly uphill. And I felt it! Ugh. It slowed my miles pace way down and I thought I was in for a long challenging run. Loop from home to Yucaipa, down to Mill Creek Road/Mentone to Wabash, and back home. Miles 7-15 were slightly downhill/flat and I felt awesome. The waters/gatorades I hid were lifesavers as well. Last couple miles up to temple and back home. Average pace:8:00  2:16:05 overall time

1.5 mile warmup. 5xmile repeats at half marathon pace. The nice thing about doing mile repeats on a treadmill is that you don't have to think too much about pace, you just set the treadmill and run. Did them at 6:23 pace with a 2:30 jog in between each. I always dread interval days but they always feel so much better than I anticipate. The intervals make the run fly by! 2.5 mile cool down. Only had a mile left when my girls woke up! 

I intended to get an arm workout I this afternoon but we were busy with library and pool dates as well as watching some neighbors in the evening- so tomorrow for sure!

17 mile long run. Was aiming to get 10 miles at under 7:00 pace, but the first 7 are uphill so I was just hanging on. After that 7 I picked up the pace and the next 2 miles were under 7:30, followed by 6 miles under 6:55 (6:55, 6:53, 6:55, 6:45, 6:50, 6:55) Two miles easy uphill to finish out the run. Didn't feel great today, but powered through and made it. Felt pretty good the second half, once the uphill was over. But I like my loop so I will probably continue to run it!

The only downfall of using ifit for my runs is that all their runs are short, so I am constantly running 3-4. Need to start taking some time to map out some runs so I don't keep having this problem.

Treadmill=Forcing you to run your pace!

2 mile warmup. 4xmile @5:50 pace with 4:30 jog (approx 0.5 miles) rest in between. All 4 were at 5:50, but I do feel like I 'cheated' a little on the last 2 and held on to the treadmill a couple times cause I didn't want to go crashing down. I am not used to running that fast on the treadmill. 2 mile cooldown.

Aubrey's first day of school. I am going to have to start waking up earlier (ugh), so that I can get in the miles I want before I have to get everyone ready for school. Had to jog Aubrey to her first day cause we were running late (due to me trying to get some miles in), and walked home.

Slept in an extra half hour and then ran 4.01 miles in Iceland on the treadmill. 8:07 pace, 32:37. For Aubrey ready for school and walked her to school and then finished my 3 mile loop pushing the double stroller. Felt nice not to be on the treadmill, but it has been a few months since pushing the double! 

Pilates 21 day fix workout in the afternoon.

Long run. 18 mile loop to Yucaipa, down to HWY 38, over to Mentone and back home. Felt pretty good today. High today was 106 degrees, so the last 40 minutes of my run were starting to get warm. Last night I didn't want to do a long run at all. But I found that the anticipation of a long run is worse than actually doing a long run, and I actually really enjoy being out and running a long time. But I sure do miss running buddies. What I wouldn't give to have someone to run with even for half of a long run!

Treadmill intervals. 2 mile warmup. 10x800 @ 2:55 (5:50 pace), with 2:30 rest between each. Modified this workout and did all 800s instead of 6-800s and 6-400s cause I don't trust myself to do 400s on a treadmill. 1.25 mile cooldown plus 1.25 miles walking Aubrey to school and back as a family.

Disneyland in the afternoon so lots of walking!

16 mile loop. Slightly shorter today cause we were trying to meet up with our ward at the beach. First 7 slightly uphill didn't feel great- and had some stomach problems. Then it's like I got a second wind- and totally killed the second half running 9 miles faster with 6 around 6:30.

Was planning on doing a fatiguing run of 7 miles followed by 3x1mile today, but I was worried I was going to run out of time, even starting by 6am, so instead ran 5 miles, followed by 4x1mile @6:00 pace with 0.50 mile (4:15 minutes) recovery between each. The cooldown suffered and was only about 1.5 miles long before I rushed everyone out the door to get Aubrey to school.

We have had a little runny nose/sore throat going around our house so thinking no second workout today unless I am really feeling up to it after the girls go to bed. Want to try to stay healthy!

Overall: 11.50 miles in New York. 1:23:27 overall time, 7:15 pace.

Started my long run at 6am, and it was warm from the beginning. Struggled with stomach issues throughout the run, and think I had to stop 4 times to find a bathroom. But other than that I was able to just relax and somewhat mindlessly run mile after mile. It always feel good to be out. Feeling confident that I can run this marathon close to 3:00 hours. Especially since the race I signed up for is primarily downhill, and this run was at least 8 miles of gradual uphill.

Cam is home for a couple days so I was able to get outside today. Legs still felt a bit tired from Saturday, and it was hard to wake up early, but I am always glad when I just get up and do it. 10.13 miles in 1:22:09 (8:07 pace).

Upper fix in the afternoon.

Dipping my toes into the coaching world. There is an organized kids cross country club here, and I volunteered to help out in exchange for my two oldest to be able to participate free of charge. So now we are busy two nights a week. We will see if we stick with it. I feel like my kids are too young to really get too involved. 20 min at least of abs/core exercises (Situps, lunges, squats, pushups).

And now that it is the last day of August, the blog has told me I ran 280 miles in the month of August. What?! That is an average of 10.77 miles on the days I ran. 5 of those runs were outdoors. A husband who isn't around much and 3 small kids.  Who am I?! (If I can't brag on here where can I?) No wonder I have been tired lately.
